Post-Election Bloodshed in West Bengal: Two BJP Workers Allegedly Killed in Kolkata’s Newtown, Political Tensions Surge

Post-election violence in West Bengal escalates as two BJP workers are allegedly killed in Kolkata’s Newtown. Accusations against TMC supporters intensify political tensions, while police action faces criticism from locals and party leaders amid growing unrest.

Fresh reports of post-election violence in West Bengal have intensified political unrest, with allegations that two workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party were killed following the announcement of election results. The incident reportedly occurred in Kolkata’s Newtown area, raising serious concerns over law and order in the aftermath of the polls.

According to initial reports, one of the deceased was a close associate of newly elected BJP MLA Piyush Kanodia. The individual was allegedly murdered during or shortly after victory celebrations in the locality. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the attack took place soon after celebratory events, turning a moment of political triumph into a scene of violence.

Senior BJP leaders have accused supporters of the All India Trinamool Congress of being involved in the attack, further escalating the already tense political atmosphere in the state. The allegations have triggered a sharp political confrontation between the two parties, with both sides engaging in a fierce blame game.

The families of the deceased are in deep grief, as demands for justice grow louder. Meanwhile, the police have initiated action in the matter, including the registration of a First Information Report and the commencement of an investigation. However, local residents and BJP supporters have expressed dissatisfaction with the response of the administration, alleging delays and inadequate action.
